Via 313 was born from a simple craving — the thick, crispy-edged, sauce-on-top square pizzas that defined Detroit's neighborhood pizzerias for generations. Co-founders Brandon and Zane Hunt grew up eating Detroit-style pizza and knew the rest of the country was missing out.

"We didn't just bring a recipe to Texas — we brought a whole culture. Detroit pizza isn't just food; it's a community tradition, and that's what we built Via 313 on."

What started as a beloved Austin food trailer in 2011 has grown into a full-service restaurant that's earned a fiercely loyal following across Central Texas. Every pizza is baked in a well-seasoned Detroit-style pan, producing that signature caramelized cheese crust and airy, focaccia-like interior that keeps guests coming back.

Today, our Kyle location at 19230 S I-35 Frontage Rd is a community hub — a place where families gather, sports fans cheer, and pizza lovers of all kinds find their new favorite slice.

The Via 313 Journey

2011

The Food Trailer Begins

Brothers Brandon and Zane Hunt launch a small food trailer on South Lamar Blvd in Austin, TX, serving authentic Detroit-style square pizzas. The lines stretch around the block from day one.

2014

First Brick-and-Mortar Location

Overwhelming demand leads to opening Via 313's first permanent restaurant in Austin's vibrant East 6th Street neighborhood, giving the team room to expand the menu and seat more pizza lovers.

2017

Texas Monthly Recognition

Via 313 earns widespread media recognition, including a feature in Texas Monthly as one of the best pizza destinations in the state — putting Detroit-style pizza firmly on the Texas food map.

2020

Expanding Through Challenges

Adapting to the pandemic era, Via 313 strengthens its delivery and takeaway operations while maintaining the quality and community spirit that earned its loyal following.

Kyle, TX Location Opens
